Moloi was taken out in the 69th minute for Kekaetswe ‘Mara’ Moloi, but did not take kindly to the substitution. He threw his hands in the air in exasperated dismay and did not shake hands with Sithole as he made his way to the bench.

However, after the match Sithole said Moloi had apologised for his angry reaction. “We felt Pontsho was losing a lot of balls and he was obviously angry with the substitution. But he apologised to the bench for his reaction and everything is fine,” Sithole said.

Moloi said he was frustrated at being taken off when he still needed to continue.

“There is nothing between me and the coach. In fact I have never had any problems with coaches I play under. It is only that I felt that I had a contribution to make. Just like any other player I wanted to continue. Everything is fine and the coach understood. We even had a chat after the game,” Moloi said.

Chiefs and Gunners played an entertaining game, which saw Mapantsula skipper, Monageng Thaele rushed to the hospital after clashing with Chiefs keeper, Sephekolo.

Gunners coach, Dragjo Stanlojovic was shown red for remonstrating with match officials, leaving senior players to guide the team. The Lobatse side have no assistant coach, and chairman, Kitso Dlamini told Mmegi Sport it was an issue they were looking into.

The Serbian coach has done well since he joined from Mochudi Centre Chiefs at the start of the season.

Dlamini said an assistant should be hired soon.

“It is a press matter which we are seriously looking into. There is no name at the moment, but when I leave for South Africa (today), I will ask my colleagues to look into the matter,” he said.

Gunners face a potentially explosive encounter against log leaders, Township Rollers in their next match.
