A fantastic 2014 for Baobab

In the month of March, Baobab School hosted an internationally famous violinist, Kim Angelis, who, together with her husband Josef, surprised all of us with their musical talents.
May started off with a bang with the school hosting the official opening of beautiful Infant Block.
In that same week, they hosted a reception for Sir Emeka Offor, on behalf of the Botswana Book Project. Sir Emeka, a Nigerian entrepreneur, donated US$40,000 to have books shipped from the USA to Botswana.
Their educational trips took them across the border where their standard seven children enjoyed a jam packed week of activities at Spirit of Adventure, Sun City and Cradle of the Humankind.
Standard six students went on a leadership camp in August where they were given the tools to be the best leaders Baobab has ever seen. Scouts and Girl Guides went on two annual camping trips with the furthest one being at Camp Nelu in RSA.
All in all each and every class, from reception to standard six, visited places in and around Gaborone. These scheduled trips help to diversify and enrich classroom education. In addition, the Baobab School PTA increased the aesthetics of the school by providing us with a gazebo. They held a Fun Day which, by everyone’s definition was F-U-N.
“We also said good-bye to the school’s deputy, N. Zavahir, who has been with the school since its inception in 1991. That’s 23 years of service! We welcome all our current and new students as we start the year 2015.
“We invite all alumni students of Baobab to log on to our website and join our ever increasing alumni data base,” commented the school head teacher, C. Loabile.
