Popularly known as DJ Gouveia, the radio personality’s entertaining acumen befittingly made a triumphant performance in the city where he started his showbiz industry, as he performed at Club Lagos Saturday night.

DJ Gouveia conceded that his Francistown fans always deserve great shows because he is inclined to their roots.

DJ Gouveia, has four singles under his belt, which are sung in the Zezuru language. People with a better understanding of the Zezuru language are mainly based in Francistown as well as the northeastern part of the country.

“My music is more relevant to the northern part of Botswana as we stretch into the neighboring Zimbabwe,” said the dreadlocked radio personality.

He added: “Its kind like I really command a large following in Francistown. I do not know whether it is because I was born and bred here. But most likely is the fact that my music has got a northern slant.” The dreadlocked entertainer jumped onto the stage at around 23:30 hours and took it slowly as he played other musicians’ music. He took his fans to South Africa, Nigeria and as far afield as the United States of America.

After half an hour, DJ Gouveia started belting out his own music. He started with Chinomudana to which the crowd responded with screams and whistles.

The crowd filled the dance floor and no one could be seen sitting down, with the exception of those who were drunk to the extreme. The club was filled to capacity.

Pakaoma was next. Besides being relatively new and that the song was not officially released, his fans in Francistown were fully accustomed with song and they were singing along as he performed.

To wrap up his performance, DJ Gouveia threw the crowd into a frenzt when he played his recently released single, Ambuye.

The crowd went crazy and did not want DJ Gouveia to leave the stage.

DJ Slim (Arnold Monamate), DJ KUD (Kuda Molebedi) and DJ Colastraw (Bonno Ngaka) played the supporting act for DJ Gouveia.
