A brace from Master Masitara and a goal apiece from Thato Ogopotse and Lesego Lubinda handed the soldiers a perfect start to 2015.  BDF XI, who parted ways with Elijah Chikwanda last year, were a rejuvenated side on Saturday.

With Letang Kgengwenyane taking charge, BDF XI were in ruthless mood. ECCO found the back of the net first through the boot of Omaatla Kebatho in the third minute.

The goal sent ECCO supporters into jubilation And the feeling was that the green stomachs of Francistown had found their rhythm once again under their new man,Texan Phiri who signed a two-year contract earlier last week.

But it was a short-lived jubilation. BDF XI recollected soon after the goal and started firing from all angles.

Right winger Kabelo Seakanyeng started spraying passes to shift the game in BDF XI’s favour.

After 20 minutes of searching for the equalizer, Masitara found the back of the net for the visitors.

ECCO players went for a slumber and six minutes later Ogopotse found the double for BDF.

With five minutes before the break, the hearts of the ECCO followers were broken further as Masitara pushed a loose in the box to make it three.

They went to the break with BDF leading 3-1.

After the breather, BDF XI was cautious when attacking as they were against the wind. On the other hand ECCO failed to utilize the wind advantage.

In fact, it was the visitors who found the fourth goal in the 65th minute through former ECCO attacking midfielder in Lesego Lubinda to seal the resounding victory for BDF XI.
