Chiefs face Gunners fire

Chiefs are second on 33 points, four behind defending champions, Township Rollers, while Gunners are sixth.

With the last half of the race resuming this weekend, dropping points has ceased to be an option.

There are no confirmed mid-season arrivals in both camps, although Chiefs would look considerably potent with Galabgwe Moyana, Dirang Moloi and Phenyo Mongala coming on board.

The first round encounter, played behind closed doors as Gunners was serving punishment for violence, ended goalless in Lobatse.

However, tonight’s encounter appears goal pregnant if the form of the two sides is a barometer. Underrated Gunners’ coach, Draglo Stanlojovic has put together an exciting team, which can mix it up with robust play.

The league title appears out of reach but the Peleng side would want to inflict a dent on Chiefs’ charge.

Mike Sithole’s side have to go for the jugular as leaders, Rollers are unrelenting in their pursuit for a second successive title. Popa is unbeaten in 15 games.

Inspirational captain, Pontsho Moloi and leading goal scorer, Lemponye ‘FC’ Tshireletso are expected to spearhead Chiefs’ quest for victory.

On the other side, the bustling Pako Modikwa and Moemedi Moatlhaping would be counted upon to bring the goals.

A bumper crowd is expected for the evening encounter.

Elsewhere, Rollers welcome Police XI at the Molepolole Sports Complex tomorrow, while in another mouth watering clash, Notwane host Gaborone United at the SSKB Stadium on Sunday.
