Talented poet Drea continues to spiritually empower Batswana

Speaking to Showbiz, the poet, who is based in Brussels, Belgium said she is happy about the opportunity she had to interact with Christian women at an event she organised last December called The World Life. The event was held as part of a movement she helped establish to mobilise Christian women. “The main objective of the movement is to encourage Christian women to take the gospel to the streets. I have realised that here are many Christian women out there who hide the fact that they are Christians. It is like they are ashamed to profess their faith. I believe we as Christian women must be excited to tell the world that we are Christians,” explained Drea.
She further said she will host the event again in November this year. She said she decided to change the to it being held in November because people are very busy over the festive season.
Drea, who works as a professional accountant, said she would also host a workshop that tackles fraud and corruption. “I plan to host a series of workshops warning Batswana of the evils of fraud and corruption which are really corroding our society. I will also make sure that I target school going children because they have to know that both fraud and corruption are bad for our society at a young age,” she said.
The artist, who celebrated both Christmas and New Year at home for the first time since 2011, said it felt a bit odd. “I have been visiting the country regularly but always went back to Belgium for the festive season. When you come home for Christmas and New Year after being absent for long it feels foreign,” she said. Drea, however, hastened to add that she enjoyed her three week stay in Botswana. She said she had the opportunity to interact with some of her Facebook friends for the first time, and was overwhelmed by how talented and innovative young Botswana are. Drea flew back to Belgium last week.
