Miscellaneous spokesperson, Musa Morapedi told Mmegi Sport yesterday that the will get the new signings from the current players on trial at the club.

“We have players currently on trial. Our intention is to sign two defenders, one striker and a midfielder ahead of the second round in a bid to improve our chances of winning the league and earning automatic promotion to the elite league. The number of players we may sign may increase provided we lose other players currently in our fold,” he said.

The Serowe club currently leads the 12-team First Division North League by 24 points after seven wins, three draws and one loss. In second spot is another Serowe side, Green Lovers.

Morapedi ruled out the possibility of the club losing highly rated marksman, Chakovha Moenga to Premier League side, Motlakase Power Dynamos.

“The management had a chat with the player early this week and he assured us that he would like to stay until the end of the season. He has a contract that runs until July this year,” Morapedi said.

He stated that the club will seek to improve its poor home form in the second round. So far, Miscellaneous has drawn all its three home games. “The players seem to be playing under pressure to impress the home fans which to some extent end up negatively affecting their game. However the coach is busy working with players as to how they can improve their home performance. We have to improve our home record if we want to win the league because we have many home games in the second round,” Morapedi explained.

Miscellaneous begin their second round campaign with a home clash against Palapye side, Tsabothe, on January 23.
