Oxy releases Life EP

The 24-year-old now hopes the new album will set him up for musical success.

The EP is already available on the market with tracks including Nna Le Wena and Amantombazane (Girls), a song that features Mingo and Summer Time.

Oxy explained that the title of his new EP is drawn from appreciating God for the gift of life.

“God is the creator of life and my life is a gift from God.  With my music I hope to be of good influence,” Oxy said.

He has performed one of the tracks from the EP on Mokaragana and was thrilled by the crowd’s response.

“I am humbled by the response my second single Hip Hop Kwasa (Welcome 2014) from the project got.  It has been receiving positive responses, especially after I performed at Mokaragana. The crowd loved the song,” Oxy told Showbiz.  The ambitious artist yearns to one day collaborate with some of the country’s established performers like Team Distant, Lizibo and Amanandos.

He is excited about the progress music is making in the country and adds seeing the first Annual Yarona fm Music Awards (YAMAs) as a sign Botswana is on the right track.

“This shows just how much our music industry is growing and going places in a way never witnessed before. It’s upon us as musicians to collectively put an extraordinary show that will compete internationally,” he said.

The man who hails from Palapye has been on the fringes of the music industry in the country for the last two years and is convinced his musical future is bright.

He describes his music as a fusion of both House and Motswako, and a bit of dance. He previously performed with DJ Clock at Limkokwing University‘s Freshers’ Ball.

His two singles are available for download through his official Facebook page, http://www.facebook.com/OXY1Mill/info.  The EP was released under MDE Records.
