Indian man caught with stolen goods

The station Commander for Broadhurst, Superintendent Bonosi Molapisi said they arrested the man following a raid at his scrapyard at Broadhurst industrial and the police officers found the copper contained in bags.  “We have not yet formally charged him because investigations are still on going. The charges may vary depending on the outcome of the investigations.

“He is not in police custody but his movement has been restricted because of investigations. He will appear after he has been charged, ” he said.

The police said the suspect alleged to have bought the copper wires from unknown customers.  The suspect is likely to be charged with being found in possession of suspected stolen property.

Meanwhile in Thamaga police have arrested a 20 year old woman Kodziba Ndawana  who is alleged to have killed  and burnt her son.  The partly burnt corpse of a baby was found in a shallow pit in Kumakwane village during New Year. 

Ndawana, who is likely to be charged with murder was arraigned on Thursday at Molepolole magistrate court.

Station Commander, superintendent Moses Makgoeng said the suspect was arrested near one of the lands near Kumakwane village.   He said investigations on the matter are still on going to establish certain factors. “We believe the crime was committed on New Year’s Eve, as the child was still fresh when we arrived.

“For now we can confirm that the child had burns and we are not sure if the child was burnt alive or if he was killed first then burnt. We hope the post mortem will give us answers,” he said.
