Mondo arrives at Nico to finalise deal

The ex-Zambia Under-20 head coach will take over from Kenneth Mogae who was dismissed last year. Nico chairperson, Mothusi Taolo said Mondo was expected to consider their proposal after a meeting expected today.

“He arrived in the country on Monday. And we are yet to make our proposal to him,” Taolo told Mmegi Sport. He hinted they are likely to meet Mondo today for discussions.

He said the coach is still tired, following long journey by road from Zambia to Selebi-Phikwe. He said they are likely to offer Mondo a contract of not more than two years.

“We hardly propose a term that is more than two years at our club. Offering a coach a three-year contract is not in our culture,” said Taolo. Efforts to get a comment from Mondo proved futile as his mobile phone was unreachable. The coach returns to Botswana football after a four year absence.
