Orapa United striker mulls legal action after termination of contract

The former FC Satmos and Motlakase player claims he is owed P15, 000 in signing on fees while his contract is valid till 2016. Sibanda Orapa at the start of the season. “I’m left with no choice but to take the legal route over the dismissal.

If they had given me the signing on fee I would understand but when I ask about it, I am being referred to one person after the other,” he said.  Sibanda said his salaries were paid in full since joining the club, leaving the signing on fee as his only gripe.  “I don’t understand why they would terminate (my contract) without notice knowing they said they would give me my balance in January,” Sibanda told Mmegi Sport.

The club’s management early this week offloaded Sibanda and three other players although the letter of termination does not state any reason.

Four months ago, the club dismissed Zimbabwean defender, Sam Phiri on grounds of indiscipline.  The player questioned why the club decided to tear the only copy of the contract between them. Phiri’s issue is yet to be resolved with indications being that he will rejoin them next month.  The club’s vice chairman, Kenny Nkape refused to answer any questions regarding the four axed players or Sibanda.

He referred all questions to the club’s public relations officer Tebatso Hule whose phone rang unanswered several times.
