Security guards probed for murder?

Officer in charge of Maun police criminal investigation department, superintendent Motlapele Maropamabe, revealed   that the man was allegedly beaten for unauthorised entrance into the Culture Spears “Tlhatswa lesire” show at Sakaumba farm.

He said  they have gathered that the deceased was apparently one of four men believed to have ‘gate-crashed’ their way into the show by jumping over the farm fence.

The group was allegedly apprehended by security officers on duty who viciously assaulted one of the intruders.  Maropamabe said the victim was taken to the hospital by his parents on December 7 and died from sustained injuries on December 11.  He revealed that the deceased’s parents only filed a report with the Police on 10 December, just a day before the man died.

Superintendent Maropamabe said two security guards are in police custody to aid the investigations, which the CID boss said were on-going at the time of going to press.  Meanwhile, Maropamabe also revealed that they are still investigating another case involving the death of a married fisherman and his also married female counterpart at Lake Ngami recently.  He said they suspect that the 53-year-old fisherman murdered the 24-year-old fisher woman at a fishing camp last week in Sehitwa.

The man, who is said to be married to different woman, is alleged to have on the night of December 10, shot and killed the woman who is also said to be married to another man. He then committed suicide the following morning. The duo, said to have been romantically linked, is believed to have been cheating on their partners.
