Ryan Blaze sets Hip Hop ablaze

His songs Kentucky and Destiny have been trending on radio, television as well as YouTube and promise to top any Hip Hop lovers’ list this festive season.

Introducing himself to the readers the young musician said: “I chose the name Ryan Blaze to complement the quality of my brand. I am Zambian by nationality, but I grew up in Botswana from age 12 and have been here since then. I regard myself as a Motswana. Botswana is my second home.”

Although he has been around for some time now, the talented rapper only released his first single recently called Destiny, which was produced by his disc jockey friend, DJ Fiction.

“The song (Destiny) is currently hot on radio and TV.

I can confidently say that people love it. About two weeks ago, we released another single entitled Kentucky.  I had prepared it before the release of Destiny.  The song features my rapper friend Ohmz The Don and my team player Flyboi Q,” he added.

“Kentucky was recorded, mixed and mastered at Kuchi Productions by DJ Kuchi.  The song is also available on YouTube and is airing on radio stations nationwide,” he said.

He added that he had recorded some of his music in Zambia and Namibia.  He said that in 2010 he recorded a song at Zambia where he later recorded nine more new songs in Namibia and released the 10 tracks together as a promotion compilation.

“After that I dropped singles only, covers and freestyles.  Three months before the release of Destiny I announced the title of my unofficial album Top Of My League on OUTTAORDER hosted by Mdu on Yarona fm dropping in the New Year,” he added.

He said Hip Hop in Botswana is a fast-growing industry. We as artists know better than anyone because we are the industry, he said.

Ryan Blaze also added that they had introduced a different quality both in the business and music.  He said the results expected may take time but added that people had to be patient with them as in the long term they would be on top of the game.

“I have more experience now both in the streets and the corporate world that make the industry.  I see a successful entrepreneur in me now.  In five years it would have shown already,” he said.
