Poor Std7 results out

 

Overall performance results indicate that the proportion of candidates obtaining an overall Grade C or better went up by 1.58 percent from 67.62 percent in 2013 to 69.20 percent in 2014, according to a BEC press release. It also states the percentage of candidates obtaining Grade A in this examination stands at 14.20 percent against last year’s 12.77 percent, representing an increase of 1.43 percent.

There are 17.35 percent of candidates with Grade B, compared to 17.57 percent in 2013, representing a slight 0.22 percent decrease of. Interestingly, 5.22 percent of the candidates obtained Grade E compared to 5.81percent in 2013, a slight  0.58 percent improvement. Compared to 2013 there has been significant improvement in Agriculture by 2.97 percent  and 3.32 percent  in Mathematics. A total 42,797 candidates wrote the 2014 examination, showing 2.26 percent fewer candidates than 43,775 who wrote PSLE’s in 2013.   43,775.
