Thamaga murder suspects appear in court

The prosecutor Sub-Inspector, Mishingo Kedikanetswe told the court that the investigations are still ongoing and two more suspects are still at large.

He said they are still waiting for a post-mortem report and other documents, hence the accused should remain in custody. The first accused Moreri Motlhakolane is represented by attorney, McBain Kaang. Ketshepaone Mmereki, the attorney for the second accused Kebeile Gabaikanngwe expressed worry that the post-mortem report has not been made available. He said it takes 14 days to release a post-mortem report and urged the prosecution to bring it in the next mention and the other suspects who are said to be at large.

Other accused persons denied they were present during the commission of the crime and asked the court to set them free. One of them said he had no weapon and was even outside the deceased’s plot.

Magistrate Makgoro denied all the accused bail except 17-year-old Lebogang Kgosimore who is still a juvenile. The defendants will appear for the next mention on December 18.
