Orange Monyaka for Palapye

Orange’s sponsorship and events executive Lame Madiba told Showbiz that the decision to host the show in Palapye was in appreciation for the support they received there. The event will be held at the Majestic hotel from 6:00 pm until late.

“We were impressed with the turn out at all the five shows last year, but Palapye was exceptional and for that we felt why not host this year’s edition in Palapye,” Madiba said. The show will see performances by famed South African group Micasa, Busi of popular song, ‘My name is’, and Busisiwa.

Local kwaito kingpin Vee leads the pack of local entertainers expected to thrill at the show, who include maverick DJ La Timmy of Vuke Vuke hit song. A.T.I., Scar, DJ King, DJ Kelz and Team Distant.

“We had about 1,500 people attending the Palapye show and we felt that has to be rewarded. We know people from all across the country attended and would be attending but Palapye is a strategic place because it is like in the centre.

People from Francistown, Gaborone, Maun, Serowe and so forth can meet at there,” she said.

Madiba also noted that the Orange Monyaka show was part of her company’s way of giving back to the community.

“This afford a meeting platform for us and our customers. We bring them these musicians because we know it is not often that they are going to have a chance to see them live in action,” she said.

Madiba noted that for security reasons, no cooler boxes would be allowed into the venue but revelers could be allowed to bring in their drinks in disposable or plastic containers. “We anticipate a huge crowd of about 3,000 people and we need to be careful of their security and safety,” she said.
