The former Big Brother Africa contestant stated that the local hip hop industry has talent but that rappers need to put their act together.  He said that they should start realising that they are in business and not just looking for opportunities to party.

He emphasised that rappers should take the professional route that has formal administration practices such as quality control, marketing and management.

“Study the game, identify strategic partners that share your vision, transcend markets and working smart,” said Zeus. The Channel O award winner said that due to his professional approach to music he has managed to accomplish a lot locally and internationally without any assistance from any organisation or individuals.  Zeus has managed to sign a licencing and marketing deal with Universal Music South Africa for his latest album African Time.

The rapper was quick to blast stakeholders who are not playing any part in developing the entertainment industry.  “Stakeholders do very little to develop the sector, but are quick to criticise it,” he said.

A few years ago Zeus hosted a mentoring workshop through the assistance of Metropolitan Botswana to help young and upcoming rappers to develop their skill.

Zeus is one of the few local rappers that have managed to penetrate the international scene.  He has made collaborations with international artists such as Tumi and AKA.  He has won a couple of Channel O awards and recently won an award at the Yarona FM Music Awards (YAMAs) for being one of the most professional artist of the year.
