Are all men bad?

“Many men have told us that even though they would like to take their children shopping, to buy groceries and clothes and the like, the mothers refuse.
“They say all the mothers want is money for child support.
“In some cases, women abandon their children with some of these men, then return when the children are grown, demanding custody,” says head of a men’s health organisation.
Thatayotlhe Molefe, executive director of Men for Health and Gender Justice Organisation, has seen a different side of the coin, when couples separate.
Many men, he says, report that their former partners’ attitudes appears driven by the knowledge that the law supports women in cases of parental disputes.
“They say that the women behave like that because women will run to the Magistrate Court,” he says.
“I encourage men to take responsibility for their children’s lives. Maintenance does not symbolise love. I encourage men to build relationships with their children and build those strong bonds,” he says.
