For some time, the team’s fans have not been happy with Mogae and feel he is incapable of handling the Premier League side.

Mogae replaced Elijah Chikwanda at Nico 12months ago.

Nico chairperson, Mothusi Taolo confirmed reports that supporters want the former Zebras assistant coach out.

“They (supporters) have been talking using other platforms. We are only going to meet with the supporters this (Thursday) evening,” Taolo said.

He said supporters are complaining about the performance of the team. However, Taolo said the fans are divided with some blaming players for the poor league run.

Taolo could not say if the management is satisfied with the performance of the team.  Nico are 12th on be MOBILE Premier Soccer League log but have done well in the Mascom Top 8 competition where they are through to the semi finals.

“There are a lot of issues to be taken into consideration when assessing one’s performance.

And we are busy doing the assessment,” said Taolo, adding that yesterday’s meeting was expected to give direction on the way forward.

When contacted, Nico United supporters’ committee chairperson Thulaganyo Mbulawa confirmed that yesterday’s meeting was expected to discuss coach’s issue.

“I hear some supporters caused a scene in Serowe when we were beaten by Motlakase (Power Dynamos),” said Mbulawa. Efforts to get a comment from Mogae proved futile as his mobile was not reachable at press time.
