The KSC is the oldest environmental non-governmental organisation in Botswana and has been working for the protection and management of wildlife and landscapes for the last 31 years. It has been effective in undertaking its lobbying activities through advocacy and assisting Government in policy making as well as collaborating with other Private Sector, Development Partners and NGOs to contribute to the conservation of Botswana’s environment and wildlife resources.

The activities and services provided by the Society include the coordination of research projects, community liaison, and environmental education in schools and with general community members. KCS was established in 1982, with the mandate to promote knowledge, awareness and conservation of Botswana’s wildlife resources. The non-profit organisation was officially launched by the then President of Botswana, Sir Ketumile Masire.
