The energetic artist who was born Maureen Maila, told Showbiz that she had spent a full year recording the album at DNX records. The album was produced by Dubblin, who has worked with revered local artists, such as Vee and A.T.I. Bouncy said the eight-track album incorporated mostly live instruments, and was a fusion of genres such as rap, soul, pop and ragga. The petite lass, also known as a member of the popular Twerk Queens said the album B Defined gave an accurate description of her life. The songs in the album tell a story about me and my life experiences. It also shows the two sides of me; my humble side and my crazy alter ego, she said.
She further divulged that she wrote all the tracks in the album. She featured her off campus mate Spiza Valentino, in a song called Lonely Walk. She also worked with ATI on a melodic but hauntingly profound song titled Gave up on Love.
The songs are assembled in chronological order that tells a full story. One just needs to listen and pay close attention to the lyrics, she said. Bouncy has a promotional tour for her album on schedule, and she has already started in her hometown of Selebi-Phikwe. She noted that the album was available in different music stores around the country, and would be available on iTunes from early next year.
The artist recently posted a controversial B Defined promotional picture, which showed her topless, in a squat pose with a huge tattoo that starts from her shoulder to her crotch. The controversial picture seems to have enraged some people, who labelled her a person with loose morals. However Bouncy was quick to defend herself, insisting that she was being creative, and the artistic picture was not a reflection of her morality.
Bouncy said B Defined was a festive album, which would be appreciated by music lovers.
She added that she had plans to release a DVD, which would have a lot of twerking dance moves in the music videos. Bouncy’s B Defined album boasts tracks such as Hush, Pretty Pretty and Money in the bag.
