New hip-hop kid on the block Dino Dru launches album

The launch party, which has been slated for Saturday at the Fairgrounds, Ditshupo Hall will feature artists Da Les, Kwesta, Ozi F Teddy, Keb, Tessa, Nadia, Ghost, Sasa Klass, Scar and Psyfo.

The DJs who will be spinning the decks include DJ Switch, Royal DJ and DJ Real Tonez, while radio presenter Gugu Mavuma will be the Master of Ceremony.

 Dino Dru’s manager and producer, Godern Seokolo, said the 21-year old hip-hop artist was likely to take the local music industry by storm.  

“This project includes his first hit single ‘LeRice’ featuring Scar, which is basically a lifestyle concept radio single mainly focusing on a certain model of a lady with exotic ways of living as compared to the normal kasi life,” he said.

 He added that Dino Dru had more projects in the pipeline, which would appease his fast growing fan base. He noted that most of his rhymes related to everyday life, especially issues that affect the youth.

Seokolo said although Dino Dru was a newbie in the music industry, he was confident that he would treat music lovers to refreshing new hip-hop rhythms that would endear him to many fans.

He further said they decided to host a massive launch party because they had realised that the local hip-hop industry was growing at a fast rate.

He added that instead of competing with South African artists, they wanted to work with them, so that they could assist them groom local talent. 

Tickets to the show are on sale; Web Tickets at Riverwalk and Spar stores at Village, Airport Junction and BBS Mall. A single ticket goes for P150, while VIP is P300.
