Promising rainfall nationwide

 

The Department of Meteorological services says the country started experiencing showers from October 11, 2014; although during that month, rainfall amounts was generally less than 20mm at a few places in most of the districts, except the North East and the Chobe, which received negligible amounts. 

Responding to The Monitor questionnaire,  the Meteorology Department  said between November 2 and November 27, 2014, however, significant rainfall was experienced over most of the districts, with some areas recording levels of more than 50 mm or more in 24 hours.

In November, the highest amount of rainfall was recorded in Mathangwane village in the Central District, which recorded 154 mm on November 3, 2014 (Table 1).

Other rainfall stations that topped the list of rainfall observations on a daily basis, during the period of November 2 to 27, 2014, are indicated on Table 1.
