Earlier this year, KFC extended its programme to Kgodisong, a nursery school in Kanye. Kgodisong receives monthly groceries to feed their students who are mainly children aged two and half to six years of age. This was revealed last week when one of the beneficiaries Kgodisong Centre in Kanye’s celebrated its first batch of 21 graduates, who will start primary school next year.

“It is you who donate that make it possible and without your P2,00 none of this would be possible,” said Kgomotso Garebakwena, Assistant Branch Manager, KFC Botswana. He also said that some children were taken to the KFC outlets monthly, to enjoy a meal of their choice.

The headmaster of Kgodisong Tama Aaron, applauded KFC for this initiative emphasising that early childhood education was an important foundation to the development of young children as it also moulded them into resourceful and industrious citizens.

For his part, local KFC brand ambassador, radio personality Tshephang Motsisi, highlighted the importance of feeding children. He said it went a long way in helping them to concentrate on their schoolwork, instead of worrying about where their next meal would come from.

He urged customers to continue with their generosity by making cash donations, so that they could raise more funds for the children.

“If you have not given towards ADD HOPE, its never too late to join us on this amazing journey of restoring HOPE to these little stars,” he said.

Motsisi together with fellow brand ambassador, Magdeline Mogwe of Cultural Spears, have dedicated their time to bringing smiles to hundreds of children across Botswana through the Add Hope campaign. Now in its fourth year, Add Hope aims to get more Batswana to support the initiative.

They also want to fight hunger by providing meals to poor children through sustainable partnerships with local charities, which disadvantaged members of society.
