Son of Molepolole MP still on the run

Khan has confirmed that his 25-year-old son, Nadeem is a wanted man but could not be drawn into discussing the matter further saying he would be in a position to talk next week. Three people, Oteng Puleng, Thabo Seswai and Modisaotsile Rentse have already appeared at the Village Magistrate Court to answer charges on the theft. They are accused of stealing two government vehicles parked at the Botswana Defence Force (BDF) Glen Valley barracks.

Nadeem Khan is believed to have played a role in the alleged theft and the police are hunting for him.

It is said the stolen vehicles, a ford ranger and a land cruiser were supposed to be taken to the Central Transport Organisation (CTO) for inspection.

In court, Chief Magistrate, Linah Oahile-Mokibe instructed the state to speed up investigations. The prosecutors, Kutlo Tsekane and Tirelo Ditshipi opposed bail saying the accused may interfere with investigations. The prosecutors said that after 14 days they would have no problem with the bail application. They said the investigating officer had been delayed because he has been forced to travel to South Africa and Swaziland to gather evidence.

“Because he would be relying on information from these two countries, the process may be slower as we will be depending on South Africa to give us the go-ahead,” said Ditshipi. The magistrate ordered the prosecutors to return to court on December 10, having finalised investigations. The accused have been remanded in police custody.
