Orange Botswana announces new CEO

 

Dr Benon becomes the third new CEO at Orange Botswana in hardly two years since  Cameroonian Elizabeth Medou-Badang was replaced by Phillipe Baudin in January this year.

All the three have sat on the coveted seat thanks to glamorous CV’s; the  immediate outgoing Baudin has been in the industry for more than 30 years and has international exposure in various telecommunications, network and business environments in Europe, Japan, the Middle East and North- America.

Elizabeth Medou-Badang, the Orange Botswana CEO since 2010, was even bestowed with a special honour by the French government  who recognised her as one of the most influent leaders in African telecoms. Under her lead Orange Botswana earned three profitability points in two years. The company also  developed innovative services and got  involved in the general growth of the country..

The latest CEO Dr Patrick Benon is also as glamorous in his CV;  he led Orange Central African republic for three years,  and Benin Telecom, the incumbent operator of Benin Republic, for four  years. He has also worked for  important Groups such as Schlumberger, Accenture and Oberthur.

He holds a Master ‘s Degree in Telecommunications and a PhD in Computer Science from Télécom Paristech in France.
