Rollers stoke fires ahead of BMC clash

He said BMC has been able to stitch together a good run as they are yet to meet strong opposition.  BMC go into Sunday’s encounter without their top scorer Sageby Sandaka, who has not trained in the last two weeks owing to a knee injury.  Sandaka is joint top scorer with Rollers’ marksman Jerome Louis with six goals and his absence is a blow for BMC.

But Nare has Kenanao Flo Kgetholetsile and Boitshoko Zikhale, who are both capable of getting goals for the team. Kgetholetsile has scored four goals so far while Zikhale has five.

They will have to breach a Rollers’ defence that has done extremely well to guard their goalkeeper Michael Pepukani so far this season. However, Rollers still have to do without their defender Leutwetse Tshireletso who picked up a knock during the first leg of their Mascom Top 8 clash against Motlakase Power Dynamos recently. Oscar Ncenga and captain Sekhana Koko are also out injured.

Rollers are enjoying a remarkable spell after going 38 games unbeaten in the League. They lost the opening two games last season and are yet to succumb to defeat in a league match since then. But on Sunday there will be a lot at stake for both teams as a win for BMC would see them assume pole position.

The two teams are separated by just two points after 10 rounds of games. BMC’s last league encounter ended in a 1-1 draw against Mochudi Centre Chiefs while Rollers beat ECCO City 2-0.

BMC have been in camp in Jwaneng since Tuesday in preparation for this game.

In another potentially explosive clash, Gaborone United take on army side BDF XI at SSKB on Saturday.  BDF XI are in fourth place with 21 points, three adrift of log leaders Rollers while GU are seventh with 17 points  after an indifferent start to the campaign.

Wounded Motlakase, who succumbed to the worst Mascom Top 8 loss, host Extension Gunners in Serowe tonight hoping to bounce back from the humiliation. Gunners are sixth with 18 points while Motlakase are in position 12 with 11 points.
