BONA has included five new players that will face the hosts, Samoa, Ireland, Papua New Guinea and Malaysia from December 7 to 15 in the tournament. The new faces are Boikanyo Selogetse, Sarona Hans, Chedza Matshaba, Ndabaka Dumuwa and Letang Mokgotlhwane.

The team leaves for Singapore on December 4 and returns on December 15.

Lebotse-Sebego told Mmegi Sport that since the team finished second in the 2008 edition, they do not expect anything less this year. Botswana has not participated in the annual tournament since 2008.

Lebotse-Sebego said preparations have gone well though continuous camp training has not been possible.

“We have weekend camps because we cannot have a full time camp as most of the players are students and they are busy with their final school examinations,” she explained.

Botswana face Ireland in the first match on December 7 before taking on the hosts and Samoa the next day. Malaysia is next on the menu on December 9 while the last match is against Papua New Guinea on December 11.

The 12 players who have been selected are: Portia Rasekhumba (UB Crystal), Tumisang Bagigi (Notwane), Hildah Binang (BDF Cats), Boikanyo Selogetse (UB Crystal), Gosego Tsela (Jungle Queens), Chedza Matshaba (Notwane), Sarona Hans (Notwane), Ndabaka Dumuwa (TASC), Ntebogang Motlakaloso (BDF Cats), Francinah Eyman (UB Crystal), Letang Mokgotlhwane (Jungle Queens) and Thapelo Oarabile (TASC).
