Director appears for uttering false CEDA document

The state alleges that on October 18, 2012, Dikgole uttered a document to Mogale Legal Practice knowingly and forged a letterhead bearing the CEDA logo and signatures of Karabo Keakopa and Ditiro Mangadi.

The letter was sent to Mosele Legal Practice purporting the same to be a genuine document issued by the CEDA office in Francistown, which presentation he knew to be false.

Prosecutor Ogolotse Tampa applied for the forgery charge that the accused was also slapped with to be withdrawn, and went ahead with the second count of uttering a false document.

He said that he reached an agreement with defence attorney, Mishingo Jeremia, for the forgery charge to be dropped and the second count to be pursued.

Jeremia told the court that he will meet with the prosecution on how to formulate a new charge of allegedly uttering a false document after reaching a consensus.

He, however, did not oppose the withdrawal of the first count by the prosecution, adding that he would need more time to study the new count that the state claims his client allegedly committed.

The matter was adjourned to December 5, 2014.
