The estate encompasses 300 freehold plots, a multi-residential plot, a commercial centre and a civic and community plot.

Lesang Magang, Phakalane Estates managing director, described the new Peto Estate as a suburban paradise that offers the perfect place for potential homeowners to build their dream homes.

He pointed out that its strategic placement allows easy access to a number of retail and recreational centres in the immediate surrounds. “Peto Estate takes the next leap forward, conceptualised as an idyllic fusion of contemporary living and small town comfort,” he stated. Whether this is an investment purchase or a place one wishes to call home, Magang said the structure must be built in accordance with the estate’s design guidelines.

He said the guidelines encourage eco-friendly cost saving practices like the use of solar panels, rainwater collection and grey water usage initiatives. “You can be rest assured that Peto Estate is designed with your lifestyle in mind. It is inspired by the need for conscious living away from the scuttle and scurry of city life to the clean, quiet outskirts which is becoming a more popular choice,” he stressed.

The Phakalane Golf Estate has an 18-hole Professional Golfers’ Association (PGA) standard golf course, with an 80-room hotel, and eight serviced apartments.

Other facilities within Phakalane include a variety of retail outlets, academic institutions including the envisaged Acacia mall.

Managing Director of Phakalane Properties, Bonang Magang reiterated that the design and approval work is currently underway with the relevant utility bodies, noting that as soon as those approvals are attained and the tendering process completed, they will then proceed with ground breaking.

“We are targeting both individuals looking for investment opportunities in real estate, as well as first time property owners,” she said.

She pointed out that Phakalane Estates, as a private property developer, will always ensure that the achievement of its developments follow best practice.

Meanwhile, during the launch on Saturday, hordes of potential homeowners thronged the Phakalane Club House to explore the property and choose the addresses of the plots they want to buy.

Although there were only 300 plots available, the number of people who showed interest surpassed that of the available plots. The prices for the plots range from P382, 000 to P1.5 million.

The residential, commercial and industrial estate of Phakalane broke ground just over 25 years ago and now has about 7,000 residents.
