Beach Party to change venue

One of the organisers George Morris stated that there was nothing suspicious about moving the event from Lion Park. He explained they had to change the venue because the resort had scheduled certain activities, which would make it difficult for the party to be held there.  Morris further said they were busy selling Beach party branded merchandise such as towels, shirts and caps, in a bid to build momentum towards the event.

He added that they have also launched a website where people can get information on the event or send questions to the organisers.

Members of public can also vote for artists they would like to see performing at the event, on the website.

Co-organiser Renee Poncana said the Beach Party concept was exciting considering that Botswana has no beach. She said the whole idea of the event was to create a beach feel.

“This allows people to enjoy the day activities and hang around dressed in bikinis and shorts,” she explained.

She said that the whole idea behind the event is to create that beach like feel.

“The festival is more of a day time than a night event. This is to allow for people to enjoy the activities and have fun wearing bikinis and shorts,” she said.    This year’s Beach Party, to be held on December 6 will be the 5th edition. Tickets are on sale for P100.
