The comedian had alluded to ongoing speculation over the athlete dating Klass and dessuaded Amos from splashing money on his prospective better half.

The athlete would not confirm whether he and Klaas are dating, but did say that they are just close friends who spend a lot of time together.  Klass too refused to comment on the nature of her relationship with Amos.

The well attended event hosted at Bull n Bush by Urban Arts Association consisted of three other roasters in addition to the winner, Tau.  Charles Manase was runner-up with Umbambi ‘Bambino’ Ndiwenyu and Prince Macheng taking third and fourth positions respectively.

Pint-sized Tau rocked the stage wearing a martial arts attire stating that he would roast Amos with his Karate skills.

He cracked the audience’s ribs when he mentioned that Amos is a good runner for racing with animals in his home village Marobela.

He punned on the athlete saying that he had a close relationship with animals to the extent that he lost his virginity to a cow.

He further joked about Amos’s name not appearing on Coca-Cola Coke cans, but on Chibuku containers since he is a ‘village boy’.

Tau finished his roast in style when he said if Botswana were to have a Tsunami disaster, Amos and female runner Amantle Montsho, would be the only survivors for their athletic prowess and outrunning the rest.

Zimbabwean comic, Manase, roasted the athlete saying he is gay and does not dip at the finishing line.

Bambino left the athlete in laughs when he mentioned that Kalangas are an intelligent tribe but it seems like Amos is the black sheep because he is not because he is just a good athlete.

Macheng failed to keep the crowd in stitches for a time, but managed to pull a few jokes off.  In one of them Macheng said that a Marobela boy like Amos should stick to donkeys not BMWs because he is bound have an accident.

At the end of the event Amos mentioned that this was a great opportunity to interact with people, share jokes and enjoy every moment.

He laughed and responded positively to puns the comedians dished out on him, saying that he did not take the jokes personal since it was just a roast.

Tau walked away with a prize money of P5,000.
