Botswana, Angola and Mozambique are the only countries, which pulled through to the top 25, while several other African countries fell off.

Botswana’s Ditsebe is among the top five voted for by the public out of the top 25 contestants in the competition.

She was selected for Miss Facebook Universe 2014 contest in July, which began in September and ends later this month.

The competition started with 105 contestants and Ditsebe made it to top 50 through votes from the public and the top 50 contestants automatically became finalists in the Miss Fashion Beauty Universal. The winner of Miss Fashion Beauty Universal will have worldwide advertising, photo shoots and media interviews for one year.

The coronation is likely to be held at the winner’s home country. The contest, founded in 2008, seeks to select the most popular women in social networks.

“It is an important event where the winner and runners up will be in social networking, photo shoots and interviews,” Ditsebe told Showbiz.

She called on Batswana to vote for her, as her desire is to use this platform to help fight the deadly Ebola virus.

“Batswana should vote more and share, especially on the last round of top 12. I would love to become a new winner because I want to use the position to fight Ebola through the opportunities and strong relationships I will have with social media holders worldwide,” she said.

“To vote for Botswana on Facebook one needs to search for Miss Fashion Beauty Universal page and select Botswana’s photo on the Top 25 and click on it,” she explained.

She added that the public may share the photo as many times as they want on Facebook.  The current voting is meant to select the top 12, who will battle for top five through public votes and votes by the jury.

The top 12 will be announced on November 20 and will be followed by another week of voting to eliminate seven girls.
