Some of you may have an idea who the potential Ben 10 is. If not, I won’t tell you… Shee, lo batla go nkgolega, ija! If you want to always be in the loop of things I suggest you get a vibrant social life, and add one or two gossipers to the circle. You should know these “shallow” things…If not, chances are you live under a rock or are one those irking intellectual snobs who profess to be adverse to popular culture. Ha!
Anyways, back to normal real people dribble…
The crush the potential Ben 10 allegedly has on Mme Tshireletso is possibly just entertainment or ‘puppy love’, but I don’t blame the young man…
Mme Tshireletso is a gorgeous woman. And not solely based on her political profile and assumed financial status, but largely because appreciates and celebrates herself. There’s nothing as attractive as a confident woman.
In a country filled with self-conscious, conservative and bland women, Mma Tshireletso is a breath of fresh air. She hasn’t even allowed age to sap out the excitement out of her. She is comfortable with herself. That’s what most women should strive for, to be honest with themselves, have a healthy self-esteem and sense of self, instead of interacting and listening to sad, bitter losers who try to bring them down and make them feel inadequate.
Mma Tshireletso doesn’t hold back because she is 60, or has a big frame. I recall some time last year, there was a soccer game where Members of Parliament played against a media team. Guess what? Mma Tshireletso was also running around dressed in soccer pants, jersey and sneakers. If she were some other Motswana woman, she would have given endless excuses, complained of one ailment or another, or chosen to sit on the side-lines, but Mma Tshire chased after the ball too. Quite frankly, she’s full of life! I can bet she is never short of suitors. Need I mention that she is also quite a lady!
I wouldn’t say that she is the best female legislator we have had in the past 40 odd years. However, what she lacks in formal education or intellectualism, she makes up for by being hardworking, loyal and a people’s person – she’s amiable, gregarious and in touch with the masses. But what obviously stands out about her is her appearance. She adds the much-needed dash of colour and flair to Parliament. She has definitely raised the bar in the fashion stakes. Mma Tshireletso is always chic and well put together. Her collection of beautiful two-pieces, dresses and hats, are well documented in the many photographic snaps of her that have rotated via media. She indirectly challenges the pathetic misconception that women who take on leadership roles have to shy away from flaunting their feminine element, in order to be taken seriously.
Many Batswana women could take a leaf out of Mma Tshireletso’s book. She works with what she has got. I’m pointing this out because we live in a society that has caught onto the body-shaming trend. Although plump people are often made to explain their size, no one is ever made to feel apologetic for being facially ugly, broke, having a dull personality, sickly, dull or whatever that may be perceived as a “weakness”.
We encourage thin frames over good health, forgetting that being skinny doesn’t automatically mean you are fit and healthy.
African women are sexy with their curves, bumps and love handles. There’s nothing attractive about looking anorexic or malnourished. Besides, people will never be all skinny; deal with it…
I’m not encouraging morbid obesity, but pointing out that you should appreciate yourself as you are; not how the next person wants or expects you to be. Even if you want to shed or gain weight, bottom line is that you have to respect the size you are at right now. You cannot dress for the size you wish for. Dress for the size you are!
I have noticed that some women squeeze into ill-fitting threads while others try to “hide” behind unflattering frumpy baggy clothes.
Everyone has a personal obligation to look good and presentable, whether they are a size 6, 12 or 16. Mma Tshireletso epitomizes the fact that one doesn’t have to be skinny to look good. No homo… but hey, she is one hot mama!
