The Joyful Ambassadors Gospel Singing Talent Search, which will be held at the National Museum Little Theatre, is a concept designed to seek talented young people, who will live their dream of being gospel singers. Only 12 contestants will be chosen from the lot through auditions.

The 12 will form the Joyful Ambassadors Gospel Choir.

The 12 music aspirants will then be nurtured to attain their dreams. Local music coach, Grace Machete, will join Mashaba and Eric. Ludo Otukile, the concept developer, revealed that Mashaba had offered to judge for free as a way to give back to Batswana, who have supported her career.

“We are privileged to host Mashaba as our main judge as she has pledged to do this with love and for free as a way of thanking Batswana for the support they have shown throughout her music career,” Otukile told Showbiz.

Otukile said the young generation was dropping out of school, some jobless while others struggle with alcoholism.  She believes this concept will keep some of them away from social vices.

“We see a lot of our young generation dropping out or falling behind in school, youth with no jobs; there is an epidemic of underage drinking and partying, and the list goes on. We came up with the concept to get these youths back on the right track, by giving them a different creative outlet,” she said.  The organisers have invited the public to watch the auditions.
