Dream comes true: Dineo Matlhwai standing next to her new Toyota Etios

In her shopping basket she bought Tastic rice, Five Roses tea, Eet-Sum Mor biscuits and other items, which cost over P150,00. After paying the amount, she says she reluctantly just decided to enter a competition that the shop is running without much confidence that she could win anything. But as luck would have it, ten days later on 10 October, the middle-aged mother of five says she surprisingly received a call from Spar with the good news that she had won a new Toyota Etios.

In an interview with the Business Monitor, Matlhwai could barely hide her joy at being the proud owner of a brand new car, which she   says has now saved her from the hustle and bustle of using public transport to get to work.“ I am really lost for words, my heart is filled with joy and excitement.” she said, further revealing that she cannot believe her dream came true as she has never won anything in her life before. According to Matlhwai, her life has changed drastically after winning the Etios. Matlhwai, who stays in Ledumang, told the Business Monitor that she is yet to decide whether to keep the car or sell it and help fend for her children, some of whom are still in school. However, whilst still battling to decide, Matlhwai surely is enjoying the comfortable rides of her Etios especially when she commutes between Ledumang and her workplace near the Main Mall. Matlhwai is one of the nine winners that have been lucky to win cars in the Spar Competition.

Spar is giving away 30 cars to customers through a draw competition, which started on September 16, and runs until January 2, 2015. According to Spar public relations agent, Renato Sbrana, already nine Batswana have won cars valued at over P100,000 each. Customers can enter the competition by spending P150 or more at any Spar store, write their details on the till slip and place it in a marked box in the shop. Two draws are held per week. The competition is part of Spar 30th anniversary celebrations.
