“We will open what would probably be our last plan in Francistown next year. A new mall is being built behind Game stores and that’s where our store will be located,” Ottapath said in an interview yesterday.

He added that they would use P5 million for stock, while P8 million would go to fittings and decorations.

Ottapath said they had invested approximately P13 million in the Kgaphamadi store, which was opened last week Thursday.

Choppies has 71 stores in Botswana and 28 in South Africa. It has also penetrated the Zimbabwean market, where it boasts 14 stores.

Each store employs over 80 locals.

The company, which was recently nominated in the Africa Entrepreneurship Awards, trades in the domestic bourse. Choppies recently recorded a turnover of over P5billion this financial year.
