In other games, struggling former Premier League campaigners, TAFIC will be away to another Serowe side, Green Lovers. TAFIC have found the going tough since they were relegated to the First Division at the end of last season. The Francistown giants are third from bottom of the 12-team league, with five points from five outings.
They have registered a single victory, two draws with the other two matches ending in losses. Great North Tigers (GNT) are home to Mahalapye Hotspurs who are in top form. The match may prove to be an easy outing for the visitors as bottom placed GNT have not been convincing after collecting four points from a possible 15.
Hotspurs have emerged as early contenders for promotion after scooping eight points in five matches and are behind second placed Kazungula FC on goal difference.
At Maun stadium, Maun Tigers seek to revive their ailing fortunes when they welcome mid-table side Amakhosi FC. Tigers are among reputable teams that have endured a bad start to their campaign this season. They have collected a paltry five points in five matches. Tigers’ duel with Amakhosi is expected to be an open encounter as both teams have been unconvincing. Kazungula will be home to fifth-placed TASC who have had a relatively good start. TASC are unbeaten with a win and four draws and are just a point behind Kazulunga ahead of their meeting. Another close affair is expected based on the two sides’ good form.
In the only match on Sunday, Tsabotlhe FC of Serowe will be home to Palapye All Stars. Both sides have proved that they are no pushovers in their maiden season having fared better than seasoned sides.
All Stars are sixth while Tsabotlhe are eighth, two points behind their weekend rivals.
The league was temporarily halted two weeks ago because Debswana - the sponsors - were yet to release the cash. The money was released to the teams last week.
