“We are on the lineup for crowd puller Vee Mampeezy’s Supernatural Vol II launch, sharing the stage with Cassper Nyovest after being invited to do a special performance at Vee’s wedding this year,” said an excited Patrick ‘Genirol’ Kabamba.

Kabamba, one of X-Caliber’s founding members said the launch performance comes at a good time, just a week after their listening session for their new album. X-Caliber had a listening session for their new 13-track album The Radio Service over the weekend and received good reviews.  Their single Oyee, in which they featured Vee and Hypnosis, is already getting rotation on Duma fm. The six-member group made inroads into the local music industry with the album GPRS (Gospel Packet Radio Service) two years ago.

They started off with an EP titled, Testing, which was meant to be a teaser for gospel hip-hop fans. Some of the tracks in GPRS include Light Invade produced by Boikanyo Mataboge, Ja Monate and Give My Life. The youthful group is comprised of Thato Kealotswe, the only female, Ato ‘Stretch’ Ghartey, Boikanyo Mataboge, Kabamba and Obuile ‘Obie’ Bodigelo.  Meanwhile, the Gaborone-based crew was recently in Maun in partnership with an organisation called Love Botswana pepping up Maun students ahead of the national examinations.

They visited three schools Okavango International School, Tshwaraganyo JSS and Moeti JSS. They concluded their visit with a concert at the Life Centre in Sedia.

X-Caliber saw its inception in September 2011 and was nominated in the Best Group category for the Spirit Filled Music Awards before their first anniversary.

The highlight of their music career so far has been sharing the stage with Grammy Nominated Lecrae and the 116 Clique, Da Truth and The Ambassador.

They also had the opportunity to curtain-raise for USA Christian rap artist, Sho Baraka in Zambia.
