UDC registers impressive first-time results

Botswana could have possibly witnessed opposition ascending to power. However, BDP thrashed its way to the fore and came out as the winning camp. Below is a preview of how the different parties performed in the constituencies they lost narrowly. In the brackets is the difference (margin).

There are some constituencies which opposition could have worked harder to clinch, which BDP grabbed easily from under their nose. These are Nkange, Shoshong, both Kgalagadi constituencies, and Chobe. The opposition managed to garner 20 Members of Parliament in this year’s elections, which is a first in Botswana’s history.
