Rail Park to host Annual Stiletto Walk

The walk starts at 8 am and is set to take place from the Rail Park Mall to Masa Centre and back.

Rail Park Marketing Officer, Kagiso Makole, said that although this will be the eighth instalment of the Stiletto Walk, this would be the second time that they host CAB.

She said that the reason behind them hosting CAB is so that they help them spread the message behind the walk that is planned to sensitise the public on breast cancer and issues surrounding it.

Makole said that the reason why people will be walking in stilettos is to get them to relate to cancer survivors and walk a mile in their shoes.

“Stilettos are painful shoes to walk in for almost all people.  It is only befitting that people get to walk in them, feel the pain and find out for themselves what it is like in the shoes of other people,” she said.

In addition to the walk, she revealed that there would be different stalls for health screenings and checks.  She added that participants would also stand a chance to win prizes for the fit individual, most pink, highest stiletto and most creative outfit.

Furthermore, Makole said that registration is ongoing at CAB offices for P200 for everyone and a P100 for students.

She explained that the registration fee would make it possible for people to be able to get the awareness merchandise available.
