“The discussions are ongoing to see how we can bring him on board but nothing has been agreed.  The discussions are still at infant stage and Chris (Rabalago) remains the head coach,” Notwane spokesperson, Podi Mooki told Mmegi Sport yesterday. Peterson, who played for Moroka Swallows in the early 1990s is said to be back in South Africa as discussions with Notwane continue.  Following Morapedi’s departure, his assistant, Rabalago took over the reins as a caretaker coach.

Rabalago’s first assignment was against defending champions, Township Rollers. He lost 1-0 in a game where his young troops missed too many chances.

The next game was against BR Highlanders and Notwane registered their second win of the season, thrashing the Mahalapye side 5-2. He drew 1-1 with Sankoyo Bush Bucks before edging Letlapeng 1-0 last weekend.

Before Rabalago took over, Notwane had won just one match, against Gaborone United (GU) and lost four. Toronto are currently lying at position 12 with 10 points from nine games.

Meanwhile, Gaborone United have bolstered their technical department by roping in Thabo Motang as the goalkeeper coach. Motang made his name as a goalkeeper in the colours of Township Rollers before joining their technical bench as goalkeeper coach.

He left unceremoniously and joined Extension Gunners, who decided not to renew his contract last season. At GU he will work under head coach, Rahman Gumbo. The two worked together at Rollers a few seasons ago and delivered both the league and the Coca-Cola Cup.
