MultiChoice launches Box Office

Through the BoxOffice, DSTV subscribers can rent movies for P22 and keep them for 48 hours. The categories included in the service vary from drama, comedy, horror fantasy and other movie genres.

Speaking at the launch, MultiChoice general manager, Billy Sekgororoane, said he appreciated that the BoxOffice is now available in Botswana. He said the service had been available for a while now and it was time for Batswana to enjoy the service. Sekgororoane added that with BoxOffice, Batswana would now be able to enjoy the latest movies for just a cheaper price per movie being watched.

MultiChoice marketing executive, Basadi Masimolole, explained that Compact, compact plus and premium subscribers with an active PVR subscription can easily sign up and enjoy watching movies. She said subscribers should however note that they would pay their subscriptions separately as the BoxOffice would have its own account.

Masimolole further said with the new innovative BoxOffice service, booking movies beforehand and returning them would be a thing of the past. She said services like BoxOffice formed part of a bigger MultiChoice strategy, which would use cutting edge technological innovation to ensure customers enjoy the best entertainment at a convenient time.

“With the Explora decoder we are taking on video demand to a whole new level by offering subscribers an experience similar to the Internet, on a decoder and without high data bills,” she added.
