Both clubs have hit a purple patch, BMC enjoying a more prolific spell, which has propelled them to the summit of the standings. Ezenkomo rode a turbulent ownership period and signed wisely off-season and the evidence has been a relentless early charge. If there were lingering doubts about BMC’s capacity to compete, they were erased in a 1-0 win over another title contender, Gaborone United a fortnight ago.

Daniel ‘Chico’ Nare’s boys are driven by the raw power of rejuvenated Kgetholetsile ‘Flo’ Kenanao and Sageby Sandaka. There is veteran Tshepo ‘Talk Talk’ Motlhabankwe and Finkie ‘Mothousand’ Mothibi to really on.

But BMC are acutely aware of the stinging danger the Gunners pose. Ezimnyama are a team enjoying rare good form after fumbling at the beginning of the season. They too signed prudently, bringing the experience of Moemedi ‘Jomo’ Moatlhaping and the silky skills of Topo Piet to Peleng.

Goalkeeper, Wagarre Dikago, despite a howler against Township Rollers early in the season, will be key for Gunners after being boosted by a national team call-up.

Bustling forward, Pako Modikwa should ask the BMC defence a few questions while wily old fox, Tshepo ‘Schoolboy’ Molefhe is still useful in the middle. Much is expected from Kelelelo Kgosimore who showed a lot of promise last season leading to a Zebras call-up.

Lobatse would be split into two for 90 minutes as the two teams sought out the pressing matter on the field. BMC enjoy a point advantage over second placed Mochudi Centre Chiefs on 20points while Gunners are fifth, just four off the pace.

The Premier League business starts tonight after an international break with Highlanders facing fellow rookies Sankoyo Bush Bucks in Serowe.

Highlanders have endured a torrid return to the Premier League and have sacked coach, Paul Moyo over poor results.

In tomorrow’s other fixtures, BDF XI who have started slowly are home to Selebi-Phikwe side, FC Satmos while troubled Gaborone United travel to Serowe for a date against Motlakase Power Dynamos.

Police XI, enjoying good form, visit Orapa United looking to keep up the pressure on the leaders. The Cops are fourth and a win will move them to 20points.

On Sunday Township Rollers coach, Madinda Ndlovu faces his former side Nico United looking to maintain an unbeaten start to the season. Rollers are third with 18points while Nico has been stuttering and are 12th.

Hurting ECCO City Greens who prop up the standings face Chiefs pain at the Molepolole Sports Complex. Chiefs might go top if BMC slip against Gunners.

Re-awakening giants, Notwane who felt the full joy of winning with a recent 5-2 drubbing of Highlanders face debutants Letlapeng at the SSKB Stadium to complete the weekend’s action.
