The Faki’s safety Belt duo is said to be parting ways end of this month. Zizi will apparently be hosting the mid-morning show whilst Dolla Mac will be joined by newsreader, Oratile Kefitlhile, on the drive time show.

Yarona fm head of programming Bonni Dintwa confirmed this development and will make the announcement at the Cresta President Hotel on Friday.

He told Showbiz that the launch is a step into the new direction the radio station is taking.

“We want not only to dominate the local scene, but we want to be internationally recognised.  We want to be the radio station to look out for regionally,” he said, adding “All the announcements will be made on Friday”.

Meanwhile, Yarona fm announced last Friday that tickets for their inaugural music awards dubbed Yarona FM Music Awards (YAMA) are on sale.

The tickets are on sale for P350 for regular, and P1,500 for VIP.

The stations manager, David Moepeng, told Showbiz that another interesting feature with the awards is that Yarona fm and Orange have partnered to give music enthusiasts an opportunity to be a part of the show.

“Orange and Yarona FM have come up with what is called YAMA super fan experience.  This competition will give a lucky winner a chance to be part of the show.

They would get to present one of the categories, as well as experience the YAMA VIP style,” he said.

Moepeng further revealed that the station is in talks with the national television station, Btv to have the awards televised.

The categories include Best Dance Artist, Best Kwaito Artist, Best Hip Hop and Motswako Artist, Best House DJ, Best Hip Hop DJ, Legendary Artist, Legendary DJ, Legendary Broadcaster, Best Newcomer, Song of the Year, Artist of the Year, Best House-kwasa Artist, Social Media Award, Most Professional Artist (Station manager’s special award), and Best Female Artist (Station Manager’s Special Award).
