And he is zeroing in on now relegated TAFIC which he helped to a respectable ninth position on the log last season before his unceremonious departure.

Changwe spent nearly four uninterrupted seasons in Botswana where he coached TASC before moving on to TAFIC.

His last stint was at Orapa United last season, but he was sacked by midway of the second half despite the club doing relatively well.

This week in a telephone interview from Lusaka Zambia, Changwe expressed his desire to return to Botswana for a second stint.

“I consider Botswana my second home though at times I found the going tough. My wish is to return to the country as soon as I get a good offer. “I have recently submitted my proposal to TAFIC. I am awaiting their offer. Though they still owe me a lot, my wish is to come back to the club and assist them win promotion back to the big league.

“TAFIC is a big club and deserve to be in the elite league. The supporters took good care of me when the club was in financial doldrums, which is among the reasons I would like to return to the club,” he said. Changwe, who was recently in Botswana to pay for his CAF B coaching licence, was part of the technical team members at Black Forest. He has now left the club.

Yesterday TAFIC spokesperson, Gilbert Makombo said that the club was negotiating with a few coaches to take over at the club.

“Let me say that it is highly likely that Changwe will take over at the club but we will make an announcement soon.

“We have his proposal and we are looking at it,” he said yesterday.

Former ECCO coach, Atshele Molapi is also among coaches that have been negotiating with TAFIC.

It was thought he has signed, but it later emerged that was not the case.

Molapi has been a regular sight at TAFIC training ground where he occasionally offered coaching advice.

Changwe’s credentials as a coach soared to greater heights after he joined TAFIC in July 2012. He spent a season with them before leaving last year July, after disputes over his unpaid wages.

Changwe would later join the then Premier League rookies Orapa United.

During his tenure TAFIC finished the league in a fairly respectable position of number nine after years of fighting relegation.
