Lesirane City FC intend to start winning

The side played to a 3-3 draw against Gabane Santos over the weekend. Since the beginning of the season, Lesirane has lost one match and pulled five draws. The side is in position nine on the log table.

Lesirane spokesperson. Phenyo Sekokonyane told Mmegi Sport that when they gained promotion to the First Division, they overlooked some things that are now costing them wins as they affected the performance of his players.

He pointed out that officiating is one department that always affects their play. He explained that of all the games that they drew, they could have walked away with maximum points, but officiating was an obstacle.

He stated that when wrong decisions are taken, players tend to get demoralised.  Sekokonyane observed that clubs that they consider to be having more experience than Lesirane in the league always influence decisions that referees take.

“Despite that, I think we are doing fairly well considering that it is our first season in this league. We will continue motivating our players and they must know that the competition will keep getting tough.

“We have to make sure that we survive. Our current position is not bad and we will polish a few things,” he said.  He mentioned that even teams that are at the top of the log are not playing well as evidenced by weekend results.  In other matches, Killer Giants played 1-1 against Mogoditshane Fighters, Rolling Boys played 0-0 against Black Peril, and Black Forest drew 2-2 with Prisons XI.

Jwaneng Galaxy hammered Modipane United 4-0. Fighters is leading the First Division South League log with 11 points followed by Santos, Giants and Forest who have also accumulated the same number of points.  The clubs are only divided by goal differences.  Meanwhile, First Division South League acting chairperson, Sam Keitireng said they decided to postpone Sharps Electrical FC and Gantsi Terrors game after Sharps failed to travel to Gantsi due to logistical challenges.
