Angry Tsotso out of Zebras squad

It is unclear why Ngele opted out of the squad but sources said the midfielder was riled at being substituted during the Zebras game against the Pharoahs on Friday night. “He complained that he is always substituted, which is why he decided to pull out. It is not the best thing to do particularly when you are a professional,” the source said.

Botswana Football Association (BFA) chief executive officer, Keith Masters said he was unaware of reasons why Ngele remained behind.

“I am still waiting for a report from the technical director,” Masters said. He however said players are not owed anything by the association.

Regarding Nato, who was withdrawn just a few hours before the Friday clash, Masters said he had not been considered for tomorrow’s tie. “We did not know where Nato was. We know he was in India after he featured for his side on Sunday. If indeed he has a drinking problem, then we need to sit down with him with a view to assist,” Masters said.

The player was turned away after arriving at camp late.  Coach Peter Butler explained that Nato had been withdrawn due to misconduct. He did not elaborate.

Meanwhile the Zebras safely touched down in Cairo yesterday and Masters said the team had been well received.

The team left minus midfielder, Lebogang Ditsele who is out injured while utility player, Mogogi Gabonamong makes a return after serving a one-match suspension.

“The team was well received and accommodated at a five star hotel,” Masters said. The Egyptians were grateful for the reception they received while in Botswana and promised to reciprocate ahead of tomorrow’s showdown.

The Zebras are all but out of the running for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations finals to be held in Morocco next January after losing three matches on the trot.

They need to win tomorrow to keep their slim hopes alive.
