It was a night of glamour, beautiful people, upbeat music and cigar smoke. Some of the men puffed Cuban cigars on the balcony, while the ladies strutted around taking swigs of their drinks, showing off their fashionable garb and taking pictures.

The MC for the night was popular chef Mcjon Mosenene. The DJs who kept people on their feet, were Fauz, Shimrock, Sipho and Roots.

The lounge had been closed for sometime before this launch, but is now under new and pristine management. The new owner Mokwadi Nyame said they aim to provide first class entertainment. He also said they want to create a mature and classy ambiance.

“When I say the target market is mature, I mean sophisticated. I am not necessarily referring to old people,” he pointed out.

He added that they want to give Batswana a reason to dress up and look good when they hit the town.

Nyame said they are very strict about dress code. Ladies will not be allowed to enter dressed in t-shirts or flats shoes and men are prohibited from going in if they are wearing takkies, shorts or caps.

Cigar Lounge is located on the rooftop of Mowana Park Mall in Phakalane, next to the former Fashion Lounge building.
