Kabelo Dambe 6
He got the nod ahead of Modiri Marumo and did relatively well against the continent’s most successful team.

Kabelo Dambe 6He got the nod ahead of Modiri Marumo and did relatively well against the continent’s most successful team.

There was little he could do to stop the two goals conceded since the goals were perfectly executed by more technically superior Egyptian players. Dambe made several good saves, which would have seen Zebras lose by an embarrassing margin.

Obonye Moswate 6

He seems to grow with every game he plays and is now making the right back position his own. Egypt were finding it hard to attack on his side and opted for the left side.

Edwin Olerile 4

The nippy defender struggled against technically good Egyptian attackers. They were using his side to enter the Zebras’ territory but he managed to settle down in the second half. He did not get the chance to move forward to send his usual telling crosses because of the pressure he found himself under.

Oscar Ncenga 5

Mohamed Salah gave him a torrid time despite managing to win some of the battles against him on Friday. He was substituted at half time.

Boitumelo Mafoko 6

He was very calm as usual and showed experience at the back. Him and his defensive partners were only let down by the fact that Zebras midfield was not solid enough especially when they were not in possession.

Mosha Gaolaolwe 5

In the absence of Ofentse Nato and Mogogi Gabonamong, Gaolaolwe played in an unfamiliar midfield position. He did relatively well to try and provide cover for his defence but was not enough against a good Egyptian side.

Joel Mogorosi 5

The captain found little space to maneuver on the wings since Zebras were starved off possession for the better part of the match. He is expected to lead once again this Wednesday in an away and even tougher encounter.

Mogakolodi Ngele 4

The usually reliable Ngele struggled to show what he is known for. He played too deep, probably because of the absence of two key midfielders, Gabonamong and Nato. He was eventually substituted in the second half.

Jerome Ramatlhakwana 5

JJ struggled up front but cannot be blamed since he never had any good services from his attacking partners. He was at most times seen chasing instead of Egyptian defenders doing so against him.

Segolame Boy 8

Despite the defeat, Boy was marvelous once again in the Zebras colours. Egypt players seemed to run out of ideas on how to deal with him. In his third appearance for Zebras, Boy is definitely destined for a bright future.

Lemponye Tshireletso 5

Tshireletso, like most of other usually reliable Zebras players found it tough against The Pharaohs. He struggled to break the visitors on the wings and was replaced at halftime.

Substitutes:

Thato Ogopotse 5

He was brought in to try and strenthen the midfield but Egypt’s central midfield pair, Ibrahim Salah and Mohamed Elneny were just too good for him and his partner, Gaolaolwe.

Leutlwetse Tshireletso 5

He replaced Oscar Ncenga and was good in aerial balls but Salah gave them a torrid time and could not provide solution.

Khumoetsile Kufigwa 4

The Nico United man came at the time when Egypt were in full control of proceedings and did little to help Zebras unsettle the visitors.
